About Crossfit Yelm

CrossFit Yelm (The Yelm WOD Dogs) was established in 2010 by a Policeman and Personal Trainer. We became the first Functional Fitness gym in Yelm, Wa, and began filling a gap in the local fitness community. In our first three years of business we grew so fast we had to move facilities 3 times!  We are now in a 5600sqft facility and have 6-9 Coaches at any given time.

From the beginning we have been Veteran owned. To us being an active part of our Armed Forces has been very important.  From fundraising to holding up our HEROS on a daily basis.  Our current Membership base is 90% Military, Law Enforcement and Firefighters, spouses as well.

Being a part of our community, giving back to our local charities, and helping those in need has always been a high priority in the CrossFit community. CrossFit Yelm is no exception. We rally around each other, help each other, and lift up the cause.  Together the South Puget Sound CrossFit gyms have seen amazing things happen to many peoples lives.

BIO:​
Annie is the founder, owner, and head coach of CrossFit Yelm. She is a wife and mother of two, who has devoted much of her life to the fitness community. She is a CrossFit Regionals Masters Athlete, as well as an IronMan triathlete. She has been working in fitness; training people for roughly 17+ years, and has been CrossFitting since 2006.
Chelan Gibson

BIO:​
Chelan's favorite hobby is going on walks with her husband and her two beautiful daughters. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and she loves the outdoors. Chelan became a crossfit coach to help share her love for health and fitness with others. Her favorite thing about CrossFit is the great community, and she loves seeing people achieve their goals. Her favorite movement is burpees - which is crazy, but she loves them!
Adam Thaler
QUALIFICATIONS:​

BIO:
​ Husband of an amazing wife, a father of four adult children and a grandfather of an increasing number of grandkids. He grew up in Michigan and played baseball into his 30s. He started CrossFit in 2011 at the age of 40 and became a coach in 2019. His favorite CrossFit movements are double-unders, power cleans and any type of muscle-ups. As a coach, he enjoys helping athletes learn how to move more efficiently and do things they’ve never been able to do before.

BIO:
​ Christians favorite hobby is Olympic lifting. He's been CrossFitting for 5 years and became a coach to help athletes achieve their goals. His favorite thing about CrossFit is the community, which becomes like a family. His favorite Crossfit movements are anything with a heavy barbell.

BIO:
Mike has 25 years of training experience in various forms of physical training. He is a lifelong learner and is always looking for new training techniques. He believes in form over load but still loves to go heavy. Mike is also a U.S. Army Veteran who retired honorably after 20 years of service and is married to Coach Chelan, and they have two beautiful daughters together.

BIO:
Born and raised in Eastern Washington. After spending many years traveling the world in the Navy he moved to Yelm with his wife and two daughters (all CrossFitters). Jason enjoys CrossFit for its constant workout variations and loves helping people achieve their fitness goals. In addition to CrossFit he is a mountain climber, marathon runner, and Spartan Race competitor.

BIO:
Army wife and mother to three daughters. Originally from California, “Tay” grew up dancing and discovered CrossFit in 2019. Since then, she has enjoyed progressing in the CrossFit community and has found her passion in helping others love functional fitness, especially burpee’s, as much as she does!

BIO:
Rena is a Pacific Northwesterner who was raised in the Portland area, and the mother of two children. She has also been a part of the Military family since 1997. Rena found CrossFit in 2013. She enjoys group fitness, coaching, and sports. CrossFit was a perfect fit for her.

BIO:
U.S Army Veteran and mother of 5 boys. She has always been physically active since high school and throughout her Army career. Her passion was running until she discovered CrossFit in 2015. She now enjoys CrossFit, running and playing soccer.

BIO:
Born in the Midwest and raised in the Pacific Northwest, this father of two has been a fan of Crossfit since 2011. Despite facing challenges, including a paralyzing off-road accident, he remains dedicated to his own fitness and helping others. With eight years of experience as a Level 1 Crossfit coach, he is passionate about empowering others to reach their full potential.

Crossfit

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. 

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.
